Hello everybody, you must be wondering why I have been quiet, look busy and not updating my blog so frequently. You are partly right, I am not leaving my blog alone and stay quiet, I was busy setting up my new blog site – www.kevckw.com. Please update your bookmark.

I knew that setting up a blog for myself is not so easy (as in having my own domain name, customized template and so on). Sometimes it back me off when I come to think of it but I told myself, it's time, I can't just sit there and wait for miracle while using the old one.

Anyway, to keep the long short, I have successfully setup the site and guess what? IT IS READY TO GO LIVE!

So In the future, please visit www.kevckw.com instead of this site as I am not going to update here anymore.

Maxis Broadband and Customer Experience

First of all I wanted to say thank you to streamyx. If streamyx didn't go down on me and used days to solve the problem, I don't have the chance to hook up with maxis BB.

I was discussing this maxis BB promo package with my friends and even tweeted it, the reply was why don't you try digi, it is a lot cheaper. It was because Digi didn't cover my housing area with 3G but with EDGE only. I tried to use the EDGE to go online, oh well, the speed is like snail and I think my 28.8k modem is even faster. Then I continued to try on maxis and wow... I was amazed by the performance. Maxis did cover my area with 3G and the speed is even slightly faster than my streamyx.

I was using my friend's maxis and digi bb so now I have decided to sign up with Maxis. I had an appoinment with my friends at the Curve and since I am going there, so I went to the Maxis Center and asked for this package. I was very disappointed when I had been told that they don't have stock (the modem) and asked me to leave my contact so that they can contact me when the stock arrive. Ok, fine, I left my contact and I asked for the ETA (Estimated time of arrival) of the stock, they told me ONE week.

I came back to the service center near where I stay, they told me the same story, out of stock but she promised me the stock will arrive by tomorrow and I left my contact there as well.

I wasn't believe that my luck is so bad, I tried the center in The Mines and they also tell me the whole KL is now out of stock and don't know when will they have stock. This one even worst!

Well, it seems like only one center can promise me the ETA of the modem is the one near me.

I waited until the next day, I called the sales person and asked before I go. She told me the stock is ready. I was so happy because at least I can use it to hook on to the internet again and bare in mind that, my streamyx is still down although I have made a few phone calls and it was down since 4 days ago.

OK, let me show you what I got from Maxis.

This is the box I got from Maxis, it gave me a feeling like a CD casing. And it is sealed with some security stickers.

The back of the "CD Casing" is written with the technical spec of the device. It is manufactured by Huawei, the model is E1762 and here are the list of key features:
1. Absolute mobility across HSPA/3G/EDGE/GPRS networks
2. 7.2Mbps download and 5.76Mbps upload capabilities
3. Multi-functional USB drive with Micro SD Card slow
4. USB 2.0 for simple plug and play

From system and OS perspective, it can support anything that's from Windows 200 SP4 onwards and even Mac that's running OS 10.4 and 10.5 with the latest upgrades.

Most importantly is this device – the broadband modem USB stick. It came with a USB extension cable as well, just in case you need it. Not a bad idea. Basically I like the physical appearance of the device, glossy white color.

That's this user manual included in the casing as well and I took out the device so that you can have a closer look at it.

Not to forget about the SIM card. It is printed with the word "maxis broadband" on it and it is so green. Haha...is it another way of supporting go green?

The sales person told me I should be able to use it in an hour or two. I will try it out and have another short write up about the installation process and QoS (Quality of Service) later.

Hennesey Artistry in Opera Sunway

Sorry for the delayed posting about the event that happened last 3 weeks, as I was one of the official photog and you will know why if you read this post.

I was in charge of the photo board right at the entrance so I can capture almost everyone who wanted to enter the event and most of them are willingly to stand at the board for photography.

This is the place where you can try on how DJ works and play with the intruments.

There were a few entrance to cater for different category of people to enter. There are guests, VIP, VVIP, media and bloggers.

I caught DJ Sarasa too. She was one of the DJ on that night. Scroll further and you will see her in actions.

It is always fun to attend such an event with a group of friends. Don't believe me? Look at the photo below, you can always see from their faces.

The first 3 people are the part timer for this event. I had a great experience working with them too. Whenever I press the shutter button, they will come and ask me for the file name of the photo. LOL... It was great working with you guys ya, hope that we have chance to work together again.

OK, before I went into the club to snap some nice photos of course I asked another OP to take a photo of myself first. For record sake?

This photo was taken at the top floor, roof top of Opera Club. They had a press conference here in the evening before the event started at night.

The pretty girls in the club, you can just walk to the counter and they will serve a good cocktail for you.

There are a lot of people come and asked me what type of photograph do I like to take. I will answer them human and scenery. Those moments that got human in it are very unique and different because they will not come back again.

Let me share with you some of the photos that I took last weekend.

Sleep Cycle

I came across this software in Apps Store and also heard people talking about it in twitter. Initially, I don't bother about it because I don't think it can really works until my friend started to use it and recommended it to me. I was telling myself why not give it a try and see how it works.

I will briefly tell you how it works here.

It act as a natural alarm clock to wake you up when you are in the lightest sleep phase so that you won't feel reluctant or tired after getting up.

It is also relying or utilizing the accelerometer in the iPhone to detect your movement while you are sleeping. Therefore in order for it to work, you must put it on the bed and the closer to your body the better so that it can detect movement and record your sleeping pattern.

One more point that I like about this apps is it will record what time you gone to bed, what time you wake up, total hours of sleep and also average how many hours you slept thru out the nights.

Let me also share with you my personal experience on this apps.

From the graph showing above, you might think that I was sleeping very well whole night long? And I only had one big movement (turning) at around 4am? Actually you are wrong because I wasn't placing my iPhone at the correct position and it can't detect my movement properly.

So I tried again the 2nd night and the graph is showing ups and downs. According to sleep cycle's research, this is a more ideal situation that we should achieve.

3rd night, I was not having a good night sleep, I remembered I was having a dream but I couldn't remember what was that. Anyway, what I was trying to say is the graph is quite accurate, most of the time I was dreaming instead of having deep sleep.

4th night, I couldn't remember why there were big movements from 1am onwards until 4am. From 4am to 6am, I don't think I am having such a sound and deep sleep, it might detected wrongly because I have kicked my iPhone to no where. At around 7.30am, I wasn't at deep sleep, I remember that.

5th night, I need to wake up early on Saturday very early in the morning and I had the shortest sleep among so many days, it was only 5 hours 42 min. Although the graph is showing that I was having a dream (or nightmare), I woke up during deep sleep and sleep cycle's research was true, I was so tired and felt so reluctant to wake up.

6th night, I don't have to work the next day and of course I don't have to wake up early. Sleep all I can until wake up naturally. The sleeping pattern showed below was quite accurate, I don't remember I had any dream at all, it was a sound, sweet and very deep sleep.

7th night, I was feeling so tired the night before I slept but I just don't understand why I couldn't fall in sleep. Even I managed to fall in sleep but the whole night I just feel like I was not sleeping and half awake. I believe that created so many movement and resulted in this pattern.

After a week of testing, my average total time is 7h 09m for 7 nights. I have set the target to increase it to at least 8 hours. Looks like I need to put in more "effort" to sleep earlier to bring the average up. :D

Conclusion, this software is good to have to analyse your sleeping pattern and improve on the sleeping hour. It is interesting to look at your sleeping pattern every morning. If you are iPhone or iPod user, why not give it a try? And then share with me your experience / comments / feedback ya. ;)

OK, the time is getting late, I should sleep now else I wouldn't be able to make the average goes up. Haha...

Downgrading from Win7 to XP

I bought this desktop from HP last year and the main purpose of me buying this desktop is to play one of my favorite games, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and X with PMDG plug-in.

When the desktop arrive at my door step, I was so happy because I could start to have a better flying experience with such a high performance desktop and even thinking of upgrading the the machine to support 2 monitors to widen my view in the game.

OK, the first thing I will do is to install the simulator and I didn't encounter any problem during the installation nor the game but the most "exciting" part came from PMDG plug-in. I can't install it! What? Then defeat the purpose my purpose of buying this machine. The first thing came to my mind was to downgrade my PC from Vista to XP because it was running fine in my old PC which is using XP.

I proceeded to visit HP website to look for the whole set of drivers for my Win XP. The best thing happen now, HP doesn't support Win XP!

OK, I gave up and I told myself I might need to wait for the next release of Windows that might help in solving my problem. I waited until Win 7 came into the market and get it installed in my machine. The first thing I did immediately after the installation was to try PMDG again and it failed again. Oh gosh, I was so sad and really really sad. I am not going to wait for the next release of Windows again because I can foresee that Microsoft is not going to help me to give me the flying experience that I am expected. I have decided to look for alternative solution.

I came across a suggestion on how to downgrade my machine to Win XP although it is not supported in the official website (HP).

First, find out the technical specification from HP about my machine. I don't want to open the cover, I believe even if I did, it won't help me in identifying the chipset and lots of technical details.

The most important thing that you need to know are as below:
1. Mainboard model and manufacturer.
2. Chipset that came with the board.
3. Display model and manufacturer / brand name.
4. Sound model and manufacturer / brand name.
5. LAN card model and manufacturer / brand name.
6. WiFi card model and manufacturer / brand name.

Second, go to the manufacturer website and look for the driver. Usually they will support from Win2000 – Win 7.

Third, download the drivers. Make sure you are downloading the correct one.

You are done, go ahead with the downgrade process.

And I am happily using my machine with Win XP Service Pack 3, MS Flight Sim 2004 with PMDG plug-in now.

Putrajaya Hot Air Balloon 2009

My feeling was mixed whenever I see people posted those hot ass balloons photos into online media be it blog or FB. The feeling was envy, jealous, sad and you name it... You want to know why? Please look at my previous post.

So in order to balance up my emotion on this. I have decided to post some photos that I have taken last year. Hopefully you all will like it.

I was waited for an hour then only I saw them start to setup the balloon.

They were quite fast, you can see from the picture below, the balloons were started to "stand" up already.

The balloons were flying high into the sky. How I wish I got the chance to sit in it and fly together.

Look at this clown face balloon. Initially I thought it was a sad clown but when the balloon started to turn, my view started to change.

Look at the photo below, the balloon actually got 2 faces, one sad one happy. They were so cute.

If you were given the chance, would you dare to take the challenge to take this ride? Remember there wasn't anything below your leg!

They even have an elephant head and Nestle cup.

Last but not least, this peacock balloon was setup for photography only because until we left the place it was still standing at the same place. Anyway, I like this very much as the color of the dusk and the fire in the balloon made this photo so dramatic.

Hot Air Balloon at Putrajaya

Last year I went to this hot air balloon event in Putrajaya before and it was a great one although I have to stand under the sun for a few hours to take photos and thanks GOD because it was an evening sun and I didn't get any sunburn (even without sun block).

Thanks to our government they organize it again at the same place and this time I wanted to go and snap some nice photos again with my newly bought camera and furthermore I saw those who went to the event came back with very colorful and cute balloons photos such as Levis Jeans, Darth Vader, Orange, Lion Face and some cute faces.

When I reach the place, the weather didn't seem to be welcoming me and my friend. The sky is very dark and we heard thunder too. Don't tell me it's going to rain where me and my friend had taken so much effort to reach here.

As you can see from the photo below, you just can't imagine how's the weather look like and I keep praying and hope that wind could blow the dark cloud away.

But my prayer doesn't seem to be working or heard by God.

Oh ya, if you notice, there was this rela (volunteer) army standing there, I found him as an idiot or maybe he is just STRICTLY following the instructions given by his leader? He was just blocking the nice view from all the photographers here. Everyone just don't understand why he need to stand there. As if the crew is going to have a big fight during the balloon setup? Although there were people yelling at him, asking him to stand aside but he pretended for not hearing it, a great pretender. There were few times, those trucks were coming to his way and he just remain standing there as a statue. Why la, die die must be there?

Finally, a balloon successfully stood up but it wasn't there for long and collapsed due to strong wind.

The sky is getting darker and I feel few drops of rain. And I am yet to see what I was expecting (as what I mentioned above).

They continued to setup the balloons and test the fire.

But too bad, before I have the chance to see all those cute balloons the rain is getting heavier and all the crowds were running away and I was one of them who ran like mad to go back to the car which parked quite a distance away. I supposed to go for jogging this evening but I cancelled that for this balloon thingy and now I was forced to run because of rain. So I did a short distance run instead of the usual jog that I had. WTF...

I really feel disappointed and pissed off but what to do? I can't control the weather and furthermore today is the last day of the event. So lesson learned was don't come at the last day, if anything happened that preventing me to do what I've expected, at least I still have another chance for it.

I left the place sadly and hopefully next year our beloved government will organize this boring and yet colorful event again and I tell you this time round I am not gonna miss it like this time anymore and will equipped myself with a zoom lens . :(

Hennessy Artistry (Preview)

I get invited as an official photographer for H-Artistry event in Opera Club in Sunway. The event was starting at 9pm but I was there around 8pm and there weren't many people yet, I think part of the reason was the starting time and people won't club so early right? :P

I remembered there was one H-Artistry event last year but I couldn't make it due to a very last minute arrangement. I thought it was an annual event and I gonna wait for a year before I can join it again but surprisingly it came again just so soon.

The good things being an official photographer is that I can walk around like nobody business, in and out, the security and bouncer will just leave me alone. I can ask anyone to pose for me to take photos and most of the time people are very happy to do so.

The only bad things about it was I can't post the photos on to any online media such as FB and blog the soonest possible and I need to wait for at least 2-3 weeks time. Why? Because the photos are for the organizing committee and I got to wait for them to release it to the public first such as in newspaper, magazine or any online websites.

While waiting for the 2-3 weeks time to lapse I will keep my blog updated with some other posts. So remember to keep coming back to my blog.

Usually after photographed my model, I will take some shots to keep it as a record and these are the moments that I treasure with my friends.I don’t mean that I don’t enjoy while taking his photos ya.

Do you know every single moment that happened around you is unique and it won’t come back again? Therefore camera is the best invention to freeze and capture all these.

Haha...we have started with a serious shot and normally this is what people do or started with.

After the “warm up” shots, this is one of the creative shots. But please don’t get me wrong, I am not doing advertisement for the sport shoes. :P

We have serious and proper shots, then followed by funny ones. What else we can think of? Tried to act cool huh? LOL…

I felt that this photo looks like some album’s cover shot but of course need to put more effort for the editing. :P

Trying to make a bad boy look but I think the effect turned out to be funny again. Sigh… It showed that we are not a good actor.

Fo Guang Shan 东禅寺 (Dong Zen Temple)

I always go to this temple during CNY because it will be nicely light up only during the 15 days of CNY. Since I have missed the chance to go to Kek Lok Si in Penang, I must make this trip come true. And the reason for me not going to Kek Lok Si was because of the traffic, super jam on the first week on CNY. I heard that it might due to school holiday and first year the Guan Yin statue’s construction was completed and the lights are nicer than last year’s. Anyway, I have missed it and gonna wait for next year.

I was there quite early on Friday due to the reason I wished to capture the sunlight before it sets. I have been told that this is the golden hour to take photos. When I reached there, lights are not up yet because the day is still bright but no matter how, I have started to take photos too.

Friday was a public holiday the crowd in the temple is superb, I have never ever seen so many people before. The best thing was we have decided to take dinner there. My friends and I have to waste so much time and effort to find a table that can accommodate all of us. Then what’s next? Queue up to buy foods! This is another headache.

The biggest problem has yet to come. After having dinner at the temple, the sky turned dark and lights are up. The most beautiful and long waited moment has started. After 30 mins of happily loitering around and took photos, it started to rain and getting more and more heavier. Usually the rain in this season will not last long, so I have decided to wait for it to stop. After waited for half an hour, there was no sign of stopping because it was getting heavier. Then I decided to go back with a heavy heart too. I didn’t complete my mission here, it was a failure trip and I was so disappointed.

Luckily, I have another group of friend planned to go there again at the last day of CNY. I have joined them and I have never ever regret for going back at the same place again in just 2 days time.

The Plumber

I was away during the week of Chinese New Year and suddenly I receive a call from one of my housemate telling me that the water pipe that supply water to my shower in the master room has broken. Water was splashing out and wet the kitchen area.

When I reached home I immediately contacted the plumber who did the pipping for me before to fix the problem. He came on the same day I made the call and I found that this was quite efficient but the problem arose later.

After examining the broken pipe, he suggested I change that to a PVC pipe instead of a soft one. I agreed with him because the soft pipe doesn't seem to be able to stand for the pressure for long run.

After the changing process have done, I almost fainted. Look at the mess around.

He burnt old newspaper and use the fire to soften the pipe so that he can shape it easily. I am fine with that method but using newspaper is really not professional and see what are the side effect around? My wall has been burn, all the ashes are every where on the floor.

OK, these are not the worst part yet, perhaps some of you might say this is normal after pipping work or even construction. OK, I am fine with it and accept the fact that I need to clean the mess after plumbing work.

But one thing that I can't accept is how he fixed the pipe in the bathroom. As you can see from the photo below, I don't understand why he installed the pipe until so low then only put a connector to my shower.

I mean he should also see is it convenient for people to use it. Like what you see from the photo, once you open the door and come in, your face will directly hit up with the white soft pipe. I told him should connect the pipe higher so that it won't block the way but he told me the white pipe is not long enough to go up. But the pipe was originally connected above, what did meant not long enough? This is a mistake that he didn't want to admit.

A plumber should be a solution provider, I paid him for solving my problem but not introducing more problems for me to resolve. OK, learned from the mistake and I will never ever ask him back again.

Bad Beginning of Tiger Year

Last night when I walked out from the car park, i came across this drain and I didn't notice that there is a big gap in between the drain covers. The most important thing is that I am "lucky" enough to step into it.

Don't understand why the management want to leave a gap here. WTF... Maybe for the sake of it... KNN...

Who should I blame now? Nobody! I blamed myself for not being careful enough to see such a gap and it was during night time, you can imagine how difficult is it to notice that gap. It was dark during night time.

After reaching home, I immediately applied cream to the wound to stop the bleed.

When I feel down I used my hand to stop the impact and this is the outcome as well. :(

I tried to wear slippers and wanted to walk out but I felt very uncomfortable and pain.

Scrathes all over my leg and the most serious wound is at the knee. It was a very deep cut but thanks GOD that I don't need to consult any doctor nor getting it stiched.

Oh ya, luckily I have put my iPhone in pocket but my hand was holding blackberry bold. After I felt down then only I notice the phone is facing down on the ground. The poor phone is as hurt as me, scratches are all over, even on the screen. :(

What I hope now is to take a good care of it and hopefully it can recover as soon as possible because I still want to go out and take photos during this CNY period.

My parents and friends were telling me, bad things will come and will get over too, good ones will be followed by that. And I really hope so.

Happy Birthday to me

19 of Feb is the 6th day of Chinese New Year and also the day that marked my 30th birthday. A lot of people were asking me where and how to celebrate, am I organizing any birthday party. I told them no and no one is organizing for me too maybe I am always a low profile person? Anyway, I am not really care about the party or not as every year also same.

Oh ya, although I don't have any parties for my birthday, I had 2 leng luis (pretty girls) to celebrate with me. I felt that this is already better than having any parties and moments that I treasured.

The 30th birthday is also special to me because I have no cakes and 30 candles to blow away. Thanks God, if there were 30 candles for me I will feel very embrassing and need a lot of energy to blow them off too. :)

For those who greeted me via SMS, Twitter, Facebook message and especially the wall, MSN and etc, I want to say thank you very much. Due to the over whelming response...opppsss...I might not be able to reply each posting on my wall (because there are really a lot), I want to say thank you to you guys and gals too and please don't think that I am so lc that I don't want to reply you. :D

Sunburn after airshow

This is a follow up post where my friends were asking me how's my skin condition after the airshow. I can tell you this is terrible, this is the real sunburn that I ever had. This is my first time really get "burn" under the sun.

As you can see from the photo below, my shoulder area is badly burnt. Besides this, my face, ears, legs and hands are affected too.

Lesson learnt from this event are
1. Apply sunblock, the higher the SPF the better
2. Bring a cap
3. Wear long pants
4. Wear shoes
My skin is still under recovery mode and yes even after one week. But I am glad that I see the improvement and progress of recovery. Now I am like a snake, changing skin. And I am still applying lotion everyday and night (do I sound like a girl?)

Singapore Airshow 2010

Last Saturday I went to the Singapore Airshow which held every 2 years in Changi Exhibition Center.

I heard it was very crowded 2 years ago and the traffic was really terrible. I guessed the organizing committee is a fast learner, this time, they charge SGD20 for each car who want to park in the center. So the cheapest way is to take the shuttle bus from either T2 or T3. The shuttle bus fare is already included in the entrance ticket fees.

I was there early so the crowd was not there yet. It was a sunny until I got sunburn after the event. :(

People told me this airshow is better than the one in Langkawi (LIMA) but I was a bit disappointed after attending. During the airshow, airplanes are coming out one by one, twist and turn in the air to show us how great was a jet fighter. Apache helicopter was there to show us the stunt too but I was expecting something more. I wanted to see air formation like the one I saw in LIMA 2 years ago. I exposed myself to the strong sunlight and taking the consequences of sunburn just to wait for an air formation. At the end, I really got a serious sunburn but didn’t get to see what I wanted to.

Since there is no formation and I don’t have a long lens so I am not going to show the airplane’s stunt show photos.

After taking the shuttle bus for 15 mins and with a little jam, finally I had arrived at the entrance and they called it Registration Gateway.

As you can see here, they were very well prepared, already setup all the rails and security scanning devices. Just like before you board an aircraft, you gonna be checked to make sure you didn’t bring in something which is illegal.

After the security check point, I proceed to the place where I can have a close touch with the planes. Here’s the banner which welcoming everyone and afraid that if you have forgotten why you are here, at least this is to remind you.

There were a lot of this “Global Security begins with ISR” banner beside the walkway. But hey, they looked very hightech ya.

There were indoor and outdoor sections. And of course, the indoor one is equipped with aircond and plenty of booths just like a computer fair. But this is selling aircraft and military technologies.

I have decided to start with the outdoor first and before I start my journey, I asked my friend to take a photo of me. At least to proof that I was there. :P

OK, here’s the first aircraft which welcome me at the entrance of the walkway. I can’t remember what’s the name of the aircraft but it has something to do with spying.

Oh ya, before I move forward to show you more aircraft, I wanted to introduce to you this brand called Breitling. It is a brand for watches and the price is quite expensive and the targeted consumer group is pilots. The watchmaker offers Certified Chronometers designed primarily for aviation use, though most frequently worn as high-end luxury watches. Breitling's watches offer aviation functions, though their chronograph functions have become more of status symbols than practically applied tools.

Let’s continue the journey with more aircrafts.

When do I have the chance to walk on this carpet and go in to the plane?

This is the most special one among all because usually propellers are design at the front of the wings or nose to pull the aircraft forward. But in this aircraft, it is designed at the back of the wing to push the aircraft, just like a jet engine airplane.

Private jets… How I wish one day I could own one.

Aha… this is a part of a wing, the surface is to reflective. Therefore you can see there are a few photogs taking the reflection. This is not a bomb.

There are a lot of this tag (Remove before flight) on an airplane, I was wondering what if I have forgotten to take out one of them and started the flying journey.

Yet another multi-propeller powered aircraft. You need a multi engine rating license to pilot it.

US Air Force is also participating here.

It is the tail of Airbus A330-200F. The Airbus A330 is a large-capacity, wide-body, twin-engine, medium-to-long-range commercial passenger airliner. Built at Toulouse in France by Airbus, over 600 units have been delivered. The A330-300 carries 295 passengers in a three-class cabin layout (335 in 2 class and 440 in single class layout) over a range of 10,500 km (5,650 nautical miles). It has a large cargo capacity, comparable to early Boeing 747s. The direct Boeing equivalents are the Boeing 777-200 and the Boeing 767-400ER.

Pre-wedding Photography

I came to know that one of my friends who like to take photos is going to get married soon. Thus, I have suggested to take a pre-wedding photo album for them.

This was my first time taking photos for a couple. They are not professional models and I am not a professional photog (short for photographer) as well. They told me they are not good in posing and neither do I. But what was in my mind is not to think too much, just go to the ground and start shooting, ideas will pop up along the way.

They are not bad in posing isn’t it?

At first we all got to think of what pose and how to make it natural but I can tell you, after 15 mins of posing and spamming on the shutter, ideas started to flow in. At times I don’t even need to tell them what or how to pose, they will get themselves ready with pose and get ready for my shots. Haha…isn’t it fantastic?

Annual Dinner

Last week I attended my company’s annual dinner. The starting time was at 7pm but I arrived at 7.30pm, not that I am following some other country’s time zone nor the Malaysian custom but it was due to my partner can’t finish the make up on time. Haha… understandable because girls must “zh'ng sui sui” before going out especially this kind of event and I want her to be the best for that night (although didn’t get best dress). :P

It was a great event although some part in the middle is a bit boring but I will treat that as a "break" for me to go for photo shoot. I wasn’t the OP for this event and I suppose to sit back, relax and eat only but how can I not taking photo for such a great night?

My friends were asking me why everyone was wearing so special on that night? Then only I realize that I have forgotten to mention, the theme for the night is called “All Around the World”. So, you choose which country or even century you want to come from.

I think next time they should come out something more creative such as back to school theme. "Back to school" doesn’t mean you can only wear secondary school uniform from Malaysia. You can still wear those unform from different schools e.g. Junior College, Sec School, Pri School and etc and from different country as well. Don’t la every year also around the same theme. Boring…

While I was cracking my head on what to wear, finally I have decided to wear “normal” which representing “from the western”. Wahahah…

We have our very own in-house live bands. The photos below are showing the "Fronzen Toes" performing on the stage.

And here’s another band called "Undecided" (wondering when can they really make a decision :P ).

Club Shooting

After getting my dSLR, my first experience was a club shot. My friend invited me to join his team and shoot for magazine and the club itself. At first, I was a bit reluctant because of various reasons:
1. I never go clubbing (pura-pura *pretending).
2. Shooting with good lighting condition, the outcome already like sh*t.
3. I am afraid that I can’t provide good outcome and spoiled my friend’s reputation.
And the list goes on.

My friend encourage me to go and shoot with him and he told me the team will teach me. Although I still feel reluctant to do so, I was telling myself I got to make the first step or else how could I learn something new. Thus, I went for the shooting session.

After entering the club then only I realize that, this is not low light condition but NO light condition. Wow…this is gonna be very challenging to me as a newbie. Anyway, since I was there, just do whatever my sifu (master) told me.

And here I took out some of the club shots to share with you all.

Privacy Screen Filter

There is this new trend by using a laptop and go online in public such as Starbucks, Coffee Bean, cafe and so on. I wonder how many people actually did think of information security and data privacy.

Apart from network security, I am going to talk about physical security first. Do you know or even aware that when you online in public places, other people might look at your screen and peep at what you are doing? Maybe you would say it is only a “normal” website such as facebook or twitter and you are not a famous people that others are interested in. But for information spy, they might not think it this way, while they are doing data mining, any information come across to them is valuable. Maybe after surfing a while, you have forgotten where you are and you login to your bank to do something. Now the information is very sensitive, remember that.

That’s why I only use my iPhone to online in public because of the screen size is smaller than laptop and thus increased my privacy, at least it is not easy for others to see the information displayed on the screen.

One day when I was sitting beside my friend, he was using his laptop to surf net and guess what? When I looked at his screen, it was totally black, I can’t see anything on it. I was curious then I started to ask him and found out that he is using this thing called “privacy screen filter”. I was like “wow, amazing, how come I have never heard of this before?”.

After knowing this amazing magical screen filter, I tried to asked around in lowyat plaza and almost none of them know what is it about. Finally, after walking up and down for a few hours, I came to this shop and got the filter, I was so happy and bought it immediately.

If you would like to get one, please make sure you are buying a privacy screen filter but not the normal screen filter. How do you differentiate them? Easy, the price will tell the difference. A normal screen filter will only cost you RM20-50 (depends on your screen size and brand) but a privacy screen filter will cost you more than RM100. My screen size is 14.1”WA and the cost is RM130.

Oh ya, how the magic worked on this screen filter? It is actually a polarizer. it filtered out lights at certain angle only. Simply means if people stand behind you or look at the screen at 90 degree angle, they can see everything clearly. From 45 degree downwards, people will see the screen as total darkness.

From the photo below, you can see half of the screen but the other half is totally dark from certain angle.

Although the screen filter is not able to total eliminate people from seeing what’s on your screen but at least cut down the viewable angle and thus reducing the risk of information leakage.

Being taken for granted...

Last night I was in KL Convention Center to attend an annual dinner. For this kind of event how can I left my D90 sitting at home and do nothing? Of course I brought it to the dinner and hopefully to take some good photos and could share with my blog readers. I was a guest and not an O.P. So taking photos there was just to pursuit my personal interest.

While you are holding a "big camera" with external flash gun, people tend to think that you are an O.P. or at least professional photog (but I am not a prof one, still learning).

After taking photos with my friends, I went back to my table and continue to take the food. Some where in the midst of me taking this delicious fish, one of a friend in the gang called me, waved at me, asked me to go there. They were already in position and ready for a shot. Somehow in my mind, I was thinking, how can they be so damn good ask me to join the crowd for the shoot?

Without figuring out the answer, I jumped in and smile at the camera in front of me. The one who waved at me told me "hey, not asking you to take photo with us la." I wasn't sure what I heard and another person repeated that to make me feel worse, "aiyo, not asking to jump in with us la, take your camera to take this shot for us".

Then only I knew the "purpose" of me being called and cleared the doubt when I was jumping in earlier.

Guys and gals what do you feel and what would you do when you were in this situation?

OK, I was trying to be nice and not to spoil the situation so I walked all the way back to my table and get the camera and shoot for them. And guess what? I couldn't even hear a word saying thank you to me, my work wasn't appreciated and do REMEMBER this, I was NOT the O.P. (Official Photographer) for the event. For those who knew me, how can I only took 150 photos for a 4 hours event? simply because my mood was spoiled for the whole night. Damn! WTF...

Some times, I really think that is it I am being too nice and easy-going with my friends and they have started to take for granted? Should I set this as one of my new year resolution of not being taken for granted anymore?

This wasn't the first incident from the same gang of people. Should I tolerate further? Everyone has their limit and quota, and mine was reached!

I have not try driving out from the hotel car park yet, my friends told me the scenery at the temple is not bad. Maybe I should stop by that building next time.

What’d happened in 2010?

It is only the beginning of the year but there are so many incidents happened. From what I can remember, first it was started with earthquake in Haiti and then accident from the CLHS dragon boat training. What’d happen to the world? What have predicted in 2012 come earlier?

I felt so sad after I knew this incident happened in my hometown and my juniors. 罹难的学弟们，愿你们早嶝极乐，不要再留恋凡尘了。

（槟城18日讯）截至周一下午4时，“钟灵龙舟撞翻”惨案的4名失踪学生吴奕樟、杨延开、谢子俊开及黄雍翔的遗体均已寻获，使到惨剧共夺走6条人命。

搜寻拯救队伍于周一清晨7时余，在槟威海域重新启动搜寻行动。在约1小时的搜寻后，搜寻队伍于上午8时03分，在丹绒游艇俱乐部寻获吴奕樟的遗体。据了解，吴奕樟被发现时七孔流血，全身已僵硬。随后，搜寻队于中午12时15分，即在渡轮码头附近，捞起同样气绝多时的杨延开。

另外两具尸体则在下午4时10分寻获，罹难者的家属在现场哭得呼天抢地、情绪激动，有者更不甚刺激随之陷入暂时昏厥。槟州总警长拿督威拉阿育耶谷副总监，则于上午8时40分抵达案发现场，随即投入指挥工作。

元首首长神色凝重

极度关心这事件进展的槟首长林冠英，陪同槟州元首敦阿都拉曼阿巴斯于中午12时抵达现场。两人神色凝重聆听救援队伍的汇报，并陆续安抚及慰问在场悲痛万分的家属。由于尚有2名失踪者仍不见所踪，导致现场气氛悲恸，哀号处处，令人见者心酸。

这起“钟灵龙舟翻覆”惨案于周日早上8时许，在五条路海域发生。18名钟灵国中龙舟队好手和顾问老师，为国际龙舟赛备战训练时发生意外，老师、学生总共6人失踪，另12人获救，而顾问老师秦裕翔及学生庄纬翔先后于周日寻获。

罹难家属情绪激动

据消息称，两名死者被发现时，据知遗体上并没有救生衣。两名罹难者的家属在现场哭得呼天抢地、情绪激动，有者更不甚刺激随之陷入暂时昏厥。槟州总警长拿督威拉阿育耶谷副总监，则于上午8时40分抵达案发现场，随即投入指挥工作。

尸体呈半浮状态最后2死者同时同地寻获

钟灵中国龙舟队意外，最后两名失踪者谢子俊和黄雍翔遗体，周一下午在同一时间同一个地点被寻获。

将其中一具尸体打捞上岸的消拯队搜救官员罗斯迈迪说，他们几乎是在同一时间和同一地点，与另一支由警方组成的搜寻队发现两名失踪者的遗体，即下午4时10分，地点在槟岛度轮码头外约1公里的海域，当时两具尸体都呈半浮的状态。

他说，消拯队打捞的遗体当时身着白色T恤，身上有一些伤口。两名失踪者的遗体在被寻获时身上都没有穿救身衣。

两具尸体被运送回五条路出事地点的海岸，并经由等候在现场的亲人辨认。

在尸体被送到岸上时，守候在岸边的队友和同学都悲痛的高喊两名死者的名字，场面叫人心酸。

现场为亡者招魂

在谢子俊和黄雍翔遗体被搜寻队送回岸上时，周一中午被寻获的另一名死者杨延开家人正在现场为亡者招魂。

内政部副部长拿督威拉阿布瑟曼于今日下午3时35分也携夫人和其特别官员邱加新到五条路拯救现场慰问死者家属及了解搜寻情况。

昨误传已获救杨延开双亲哭断肠

案发首日一度误传指已获救的杨延开，在隔日证实已罹难。其父亲在认尸时情绪激动，大喊爱儿的名字，令人心疼。

杨延开的尸体于中午时分被寻获后，杨父即被安排前往认尸。经过一天一夜的守候，杨父的神情显得憔悴与低落。见着爱儿冰冷的尸体后，他既无法压抑内心的激动，悲伤过度导致无法自行站立及移动，需要旁人的扶持才有办法移动。

同时，失落的他也声声呼唤爱儿的名字，对爱儿的离去显得非常不舍。现场一片悲恸，悲凄的呼叫声敲入在场每人的心坎中，无不使人动容、心酸。

K9消拯搜寻犬加入搜寻队伍

K9消拯搜寻犬，加入寻找失踪者的救援队伍！

据槟州消防队副主任拉展对媒体指出，进入第2天的搜寻行动，搜寻阵容除加入经过特别训练的K9消拯搜寻犬外，也从吉打州调动支援，目前现场进行搜寻工作的救生艇已增至5艘，以加速搜寻其余两名失踪者的工作。

他也提及，搜寻行动分为A区及B区进行，并以槟城大桥为中心点；A区是大桥以北，B区是大桥以南。

K9消拯搜寻犬简介

K9原本是警犬，并在近年加入消防拯救队。这类警犬经过特别训练，并在发生天灾人祸时，加入搜寻工作。K9能带头领著警员寻找匿藏匪徒或隐藏的证据，甚至能在事发地点找到生还者或尸体。

K9这个称号也是全世界大部分国家的警犬组名称，尤其是美国和俄罗斯。大马警犬组总部设在士马勒警察训练中心，其余警犬组则分别设在吉隆坡国际机场、马六甲、昔加末、新山、双溪大年、黑木山、怡保、槟城、瓜拉登嘉楼、哥打峇鲁、关丹、砂拉越美里、古晋、诗巫、沙巴亚庇、山打根和斗湖。

据悉，美国看到第一次世界大战期间军犬在战场上发挥的巨大作用，于是也开始组建自己的拥有2万只军犬的特种部队，用于执行侦察、放哨、探测地雷、警卫等军事任务。

4错酿惨剧

槟城锺灵中学龙舟队发生海难，18名师生翻舟后，12人获救另6名落海者，其中4人被捞起时，已成冰冷的尸体，目前2人还下落不明，综合这次惨剧的肇因，有4项错误或疏忽酿成：

1错－天然（农历初三为大涨潮日）。

2错－地点（五条路海况比新关仔角及峇都丁宜险恶，有暗流。）

3错－疏忽（龙舟队没有全部穿上救生衣。）

4错－人为（顾问老师不谙游泳，竟然受委为龙舟队顾问老师。）

正值农历初三海水大涨潮

意外发生离不开许多的巧合。

当天正值农历初三，海水正值大涨潮的日子，发生意外的时间是上午9时左右，也正是海水正在涨潮的阶段，海流湍急的时刻。

因为受到月球引力的左右，海水在每月的初三和十八皆会上涨到最高潮，一般潮汐在中午及午夜都会上升到最高水平。周日初三上午，海水高涨时刻的海流特别湍急，对船身瘦长的龙舟会构成一定的危险。

海峡地势暗流汹涌

钟中龙舟队意外，除了遇上了不利的天时，地点和人为因素也间接造成不幸发生。

五条路外海处，虽然获得槟威海峡的庇护，海上一般不会有大风浪，但也因为是海峡地势，涨潮时海水涌入也特别急。

当天，钟中龙舟队训练时，也因为救生衣不足，所以没有全部的队员都获得分配。这使到发生意外时，增加了风险。

加上学校的顾问老师秦裕翔是一名不识水性，没有划龙舟的经验者，不幸在这次的龙舟意外中，断送教育英才的抱负。

Jogging

It has been a long and really long time that I didn’t do any sports and ya, everyday after work i will just sit at home. I know your next question will be "why the heck I am sitting at home?". I am quite busy after work because I need to process the photos that I have taken.

I suppose to join a gang of friends to go for hiking yesterday morning but due to an ad-hoc training being scheduled on the same timing, I got to let go the hiking session.

I am going to hike Mt KK, Sabah in 5 months time and I don't want to be the one who can’t catch up, this will be very embarrassing. Therefore, I have decided to go for jogging today. Since I didn't do exercise for such a long time, I am giving myself an allowance, only run for 10 mins then stop. Haha… I know it was not enough yet, I will increase the period from time to time.

By the way, I was in the garden at odd timing (I guess) because I was the only one running on the track. Feel unsecure and weird.

Here are some photos taken with my phone camera. Next time I will bring a "real" camera to take nicer photos and share with you all again.

So for the time being, I got to use these 2 photos first. :)

The sun light is actually very strong and brigt but in these 2 photos, they gave you a very gray feeling, I guess the white balance and metering is not accurate. A phone is not designed to take photos like a "real" camera does…so the outcome are like…

Portrait Photography - Aaron

I don’t know this is consider as portrait photography or should it be having some other name? Anyway, both also shooting human.

I like photography but I don’t have $$$ to buy a DSLR yet so I borrow one from my brother who is using Canon 1000D. It was the first time I touched on DSLR and then I found that it is so as easy to use as I expected (although it is only an entry level DSLR). But with the interest that I have I keep learning how to handle it.

So my first guinea pig…

is a friend of mine who likes photography too (being a model). And he agreed to become my test specimen. Haha… (By the way, the cute piggy above wasn’t taken by me).

Camwhoring

Frankly, I never do cam whoring until I know a friend and have a remote control unit for my camera. Last time I was having a so called advance compact camera, if I want to take photo for myself, I would have to switch on the timer and wait for a few seconds for each snap. And the same steps gonna be repeated if you want to take more than one. Tedious and lazy already.

Now with Nikon D90 and a remote control unit, I can do this without running between my position and the camera. Yeah! How great it was to have a remote. Haha...

Because of the angle and wide lens effect, I look like having a big chest and arm. That's why I like wide angle lens on me. :P

OK, here are some examples of my cam whoring session with friends. By the time you finish watching the last photo, you will notice that the angle of the camera was always the same. Yes, we were so lazy to change the angle. So after set it up, we just keep pressing on the remote but with different position, facial expression and body gestures.

Catchup with the actors – The Swimming Instructor

During the play, Dave looks like one of my friend who I lost contact for quite a long time ago. Even his behavior made me wonder is he the one I knew but definitely he is not the one I knew. After the show, I manage to catch a photo with him and guess what? I found that when out from the stage, he looks like my computer teacher when I was in secondary school. Oh gosh, why he has the shadow of 2 people that I knew?

This is the photo I took with Niki Cheong. Hey, I look weird la, what the h... I stood like that? Wrong posture!

I like this photo the most. Why? Hahaha... you guess la.

The Curve

It has been a long time I didn't go to the curve and cineleisure for movie and shopping. Usually I will park my car in cineleisure and walk to the curve. I was a bit surprise that there are lots of changes here and I told myself it really been a while I didn't visit this place.

When I came out from the car park, the first thing I notice was the book store doing a clearence sales, all the books were not in the book shop. They already shut the door and put the goods at the empty space in front of the shop.

Shutting down of shops and reopen with a new one is something very common but the changes to the structure (the main entrance) is not that common. While I walk out from cineleisure main entrance, I saw a drastic change. Wow...I almost can't believe that I am in cineleisure. "The curve" has been renamed to "e @ curve".

Oh ya before I end this posting, I saw this new shop at B1. Hmmm, since when Popeyes like to eat chicken and seafood, I thought spinach only? Haha...

Goodbye 2009, Wecome 2010

Sometimes I wonder why time passed by so fast. I can still remember the first day I started my blog is at the end of Aug 09 and now it is the last day of the year. And I thought I won't be able to keep writting / updating my blog and eventually it will die some days. But what? Miracle did happened? I blog until now.

During November I was hoping that December can arrive sooner. I like this month because it is a month that's full of joys and happiness. There are quite a number of public holidays around and the work weeks are short, don't you feel that this is great?

I was a bit busy and tied up during the last week of the year, I only manage to draft the "year-end review" , Hannah Tan's charity concert and Camwhoring with friends but still not finalizing them for posting yet.

The naughty Beagle

Continue from my previous post of Golden Retriever, here’s the photos for the hyper active and naughty Beagle. There weren’t many photos for this bugger (ya, I call her this way because she is cute but darn hyper active) because it keeps moving, running, jumping here and there. I got to admit that this is the first time I was invited to take photo for dogs and my skill wasn’t being trained up yet. Perhaps I need more practice on photo shooting of “non-stop” moving objects.

Look at how she ran.

Even you had got her slept on the floor, she still want to move some other parts, which is her mouth.

How to make her stand still or limit her movement? We found a big rock and put her up there. Oh yeah, her movement has been limited and it is a lot easier for me to take her photos. And here’s the outcome.

Starring at me: “Hey, you better put me down else I will bite you!”

Microsoft Cibai

Hey, I am not scolding bad words or something like that. When I come across this term that MS used, I was stunned there, just can’t believe what I have seen. Oh gosh, MS, how can you use this term to name your new product. Okay, my friends, if you still don’t believe, why not take a look here.

All right back to the technical details of this thingy, it is actually an abstract interpretation-based static analyzer for modular analysis and verification of Java classes. I know it sounds a bit bombardstic and the description is not in layman term. It simply means this is a class (not the classes in school) that used in Java programming language.

Maybe to the Ang Mo, this word sounds nothing but just a new technical term in a programming language but it sounded very wrong in Malaysia, Singapore and etc.

Image that when you are attending a Java proramming class in college, the lecturer came in to the class:
Lecturer: OK, everyone I am going to teach you Microsoft Cibai now.

There is a publication under this title called CIBAI for DUMMIES. Oh my god, do you think you can find this book in Malaysia or Singapore’s book store? If you do, please let me know. I would like to know how long can it stay at the shelf.

Tamarind Hill Restaurant

I have been hearing this name for quite sometimes and for those who went there before keep telling me it is a nice restaurant to dine at. I browsed the internet then only I found that there are a few Tamarind restaurants around in KL. The one I went is at Jln Sultan Ismail, remember not the others.

I was invited to this restaurant for a friend’s birthday dinner. I arrived there quite early because I wish to take some shots before the sky turned dark. Personally, I felt that the environment is not bad, it gave you a very good mood for dinning. The design of the restaurant is a mixed of Burmese and Thai but some people told me it is a bit Bali feels. I guess you should be able to imagine how it looks like but if you can’t, why not go there and take a look?

Don’t ask me how about the food, forget it, just use the environment to compensate… Haha… OK, I found that the food is normal only, maybe you can get a lot cheaper outside in any chinese restaurant with the same or better quality.

I was thinking to bring my grandma to enjoy dinner here. Before reaching the entrance, I need to climb up the staircase and look at them, so many steps and not user friendly for disabled people at all.

There are lots of candles in the wall, it made me feel warm under the air-cond because I was sitting near to the wall.

I like the way they decorate the dining tables. Looks a bit classic and yet modern (what am I talking about ar?). A bit like what you see in Harry Potter? But definitely this is a lot nicer, right?

The Swimming Instructor

I am a person who like to watch stage play very much but I don’t have many friends around me are in to that. The last time I watched was 2 years ago and all these while I was watching Chinese version. Usually the stories are not bad, touching, warm hearted and meaningful.

Again thanks to the power of internet and social networking media, Facebook and Twitter. I get to know this drama from twitter and I thought it was over at that moment. So happen that during a conversation with a friend, he told me it was a great show and he watched it. Oh gosh, I was thinking that I am gonna miss it anyway because of knowing it so late. But he told me, the show was up for one whole week, not just one day only. I was like “What?!?! Really???”.

I was asking around and look for a friend to go and watch with me and I was lucky enough to find one. And I was asked what’s the synopsis of the drama. I said I don’t and I really don’t know at all but it won’t be a bad one. Just go and watch it and you will know.

It was a show that talked about love and relationship. 3 of them are strangers and they know each other at a public swimming pool. Eventually, the story goes on and tell us how they fall in love for each other, how confused was Guan (casted by Michael Chen) in the relationship, Dave was nearly became the substitute of Daniel and how Jan approach the swimming instructor.

I like the way Jan expressed herself to the one she loved and made the first move. Frankly, I did notice that nowadays girls are no longer like last time, where she liked someone, she will just sit there and wait for that someone to come and approach her. People might think that she is too desperate if she made the move first. Why the world would think it that way? We are equal, regardless you are a boy or girl and going after to the one you like is not something wrong. Anyway, thanks God, more and more girls are willing to make the first move now.

If the drama without Jan (casted by Davina Goh) and Dave (casted by Niki Cheong), I think it would be pretty boring, dull and gray. Because of these 2 characters, they brought colors and laughter to the audiences. They were so important in the show to make it lively. Dave was funny and cute especially during his first encounter with Jan. The way Dave and Jan speak was really funny and always made me laugh out loud. I will not forget what I saw and heard.

Until after the show, I can still remember this little conversation where Jan ask Dave about his current status:
Jan: Do you have a bf now? Is he a swimming instructor?
Dave: NO! Definitely not, are you insane?
Jan: ……
Dave: (broke the silent again) He is a life guard!!!

I laugh out loud after hearing this! Great!

If the show is still going on, I will recommend it to more and more friends. I can tell you, the money that you paid for the show is worth it.

The Puppy – Golden Retriever

I am dog lover and I like them very much. I remember last time when Swing was with me, he accompany me to do sports almost every week. Usually after work and back at home, I was so tired and the pressure of work is still with me. I was glad that I had Swing with me. He will waig his tail to welcome me back and then I will bring him out for a walk. It was so relaxing.

I would say taking care of a dog is similar to a baby. You need to make sure they are healthy and can always play or have some activities with you. It was once Swing hurt himself and I got to help him to clean the wound, put on the medicine everyday. My mum looked at the situation and told me, you look like a father of a child. I feel so happy to hear that, at least I am “passed” and qualified for that “role”. Hahaha……

Yesterday I was invited by a friend to take some photos of a puppy Beagle and Golden Retriever. I like GR very much especially when it is still a puppy. It is just too cute and adorable. Although the Beagle was only 4 months old, she was very very active. Imagine that even when you hold her in your arms, she still want to move and she just can’t stop for a while to take a rest. I was wondering what kind of “battery” is she using.

Anyway, I am sharing out the photos of GR first and will post that naughty active Beagle’s photo in my next posting, stay tuned. :)

A walk in Lowyat Plaza

Last Friday was a public holiday and I got to bring my friend’s camera to Lowyat Plaza for repair. After sending in to the shop, I told my friend might as well we take a walk here since we already here and paid the parking.

I came to this booth which sell GPS device (but I only see one unit only). I was asking him to switch it on so that I can test it out and see what else I can do with the device. I have a colleague who showed me his GPS device which can run Garmin, PaPaGo and iGo. Wow…how can you have 3 different systems in one device? That’s why I always tell my friend, China products is amazing. Oh yes, this is a China product, don’t even have a brand name. Even it did, I guess I will never heard the name before. But unfortunately, the sales person couldn’t turn it on because the battery is flat. Oh gosh, I think they don’t want to do business already, how can you tell me no power and can’t turn it on. And I don’t even see his intention or courtesy to take out a charger.

I didn’t manage to see how this China product works but that’s fine, I will look for it some other day at somewhere again.

I came into this computer accessories store to buy a PS/2 to USB port cable. Ya, you didn’t hear it wrong from me, I still can’t believe when I bought my PC, it came with 2 PS/2 ports for my keyboard and mouse. Although this is an old technology, I don’t mind because it can really help me to save up my USB ports and I guess this is the purpose of putting PS/2 ports there.

Oh ya, I suppose to buy that cable but my friend and I saw this plasma ball being displayed there. The first thinking we had in our mind is to buy it! Haha… This is the first time we are making such a fast decision. Usually, this “ball” come with quite an expensive price but this is really selling cheap here. But it draws power from USB port. You can plug it into your laptop or desktop or buy a USB power adapter and plug into it without switching on your computer.

HTC Touch Diamond

I found that my track record of using a phone is not more than a year. Friends always said that I change phone faster than I change underwear, ahem, of course this is not true. Underwear got to be changed everyday but not changing a phone with that frequency unless my dad owns a phone company.

HTC Touch Diamond is the phone that can last more than a year with me. I like the size of the phone, it is so slim. But one thing bad about it is the battery life and slow in response.

There is a promotion for a new more high tech phone (at least to me) in the market and I have decided to go for it. Thus, this poor Touch Diamond has became my secondary backup phone. Until last night I have this urge and decided to sell it away while the price is still good in the market. After considering all the facts, I still love to see cash rather than a device sitting there collecting dust and have its value depreciating every single day.

As usual, I took some photos about the phone and posted it online for sale. From my experience, I knew that I have to wait for a few days before I can get a respond and even worse that people might just ask for the sake of asking or the fun of it only. But unexpectedly, after the posting, immediately I got some replies and guess what? I successfully sold it the next day. This is the fastest record I ever had, selling an item within 24 hours!

Goodbye my HTC Touch Diamond, you will always in my mind and I will always miss you. Just can’t forget how you accompany me when I was down, happy and every single moment in my life for the past one year. Sob sob…(What’d happened to me? It is just a device).

Review of Mophie Juice Pack Air (Part 2)

As promised, this is the second part of the review. It will be more on the UAT and PST.

I read some reviews on the internet before deciding to get this extended battery pack and the reviews are saying that this is the “air” (slimmer design) version so the capacity of the battery is 1200mAh and will be able to charge from 0 to 80%. I was thinking that this is already enough as I don’t expect it to charge until 100% because its slim design.

From the perspective of UAT (User Acceptance Test), I feel a bit disappointed on the device because it can only give another 55-57% to the internal battery. Which means from 0 to 55% only but not as much as what the review said – 80%. I have tested a few times, where I started to charge the phone from 15% and it stopped charging when it reached 72%. It took around 1.5 hours to charge the internal battery before it became flat.

Usually, I will charge my phone and the extended battery pack overnight. By the time, I woke up at 8am, both the internal and external batteries are fully charge and I disconnected them from the power source. I have all the push notifications, push emails, fetch emails switched on. I use facebook, surf the net, twitter, send and receive emails on and off. By the time at 3pm, it left 15% by and I started to charge the internal battery with the extended pack.

Although it can’t fully charge my internal battery but at least it gives me another 55% of battery to use for the rest of the day until I got back home.

From the PST (Performance Stress Test) point of view, it takes more than 2 hours to fully charge everything and I found that this is acceptable. I would say 1.5 hours to charge the internal battery for another 55% is a bit too slow but the good thing is that you can still bring your phone around while it is being charged.

As a conclusion, you still need it for a whole day usage and charging them daily.

Review of Mophie Juice Pack Air (Part 1)

I have a very bad habit which is reading people’s blog. Oh yea, what’s wrong? Reading blog is not a bad habit at all but the problem is I always read it with my iPhone while I am free. Most of the time when I am free I will not be sitting in front of my pc and yet I just can’t get away from digital gadget even while I am in the toilet doing “business”. Now you tell me is this habit good? Haha…

And I always have one issue with my iPhone which is the battery. The battery just can’t last long enough for my usage. Therefore, I have decided to buy an extra battery pack for it. I have been thinking and considering on this solution again and again.

Today I told myself not to think on it anymore. If I don’t put it into action, I will be still sitting here and continue to dream on it only. But by putting it in action, to make my dream come true, to solve the battery issue, to have a longer usage time, to… (and the reasons go on just to convince myself), I have to pay off quite a large amount of RM for it.

With the new extended battery pack installed, it worked as a cover for the phone as well, so I don’t have to buy any other cover for it and stop considering (again) on all those fancy punky iPhone covers.

By looking at the photo you will know how bulky is the phone now. And of course with the increase of the physical size, the weight increase too. This is the trade off for a longer uptime? Sigh… nothing is perfect in this world.

There is a battery checker at the back of it. Just press once at the button, it will show you the power status. Thanks God, the designer of this cover used a blue light for the status but not red and green, I just feel that those colors are way too common and old-ish.

There is a button and a micro USB at the bottom of the battery pack. The button is designed for user to control when to pump the power stored at the extended battery to the internal battery. I like this mechanism by physically pushing the button to start charging. Sometimes too much of digital control is not good.

One thing I don’t understand why the designer want to use another type of USB port? Why not just use the same one as what iPhone is using or a mini USB port. If it is using mini USB port, I have plenty of cables which can use for that and don’t have to rely on the apple’s USB cable (which is quite expensive to buy another one). Anyway, I think the designer might think that to make the product unique or outstanding, that’s why a micro USB port has been chosen.

圣诞节来了

那天应约与友人出来闲逛才发现商场都已经挂上圣诞节的装饰，有些地方还开始播着圣诞歌曲。这时我才发现原来一年又过去了。感觉上好像都没做到什么似的，岁月就此匆匆别过。

很多人看到这些美丽的圣诞装饰当然忍不住拍照咯不然的话好像很可惜。刚好又有带着相机的我当然抓紧机会啦，那里可以放过。

就连外面的装饰也不放过，就来个大拍特拍的，因为它们的确不错。

入夜时分，饰品亮灯之后更显特别。看着看着也不竟为之着迷。

对我来说每一年的圣诞节也不外如此，那今年可有什么不同呢？我不知道，可能上天已做好安排，到时给我个惊喜也不定？

Rearrange my room

I believe a lot of people will put the computer in their sleeping room. The same settings go to me too. But suddenly I have this idea of making the room I used for sleeping as “clean” as possible. A computer and its equipments will emit electro-magnetic waves and it is not good to our health (even it is turned off, this is what I heard but not sure true or not).

I have been sleeping with my desktop for so many years why now only realise this? Actually, the reason for me to move my computer and all the equipments to a new room is to make my room looks cleaner and wider only. I don’t care about the so called “radiation” from the machines because I can’t see it or feel it and I always believe that the amount of radiation is very small. I don’t think that it can affect one’s health.

This is before I move everything and whenever I look at it, I always have one word to describe all these, which is “MESSY~~!!!!”.

After moving the machines to a new room, now I can use the empty space for my small christmas tree.

This is the new look in the room where my computer is and I am still thinking whether to name the room or not? Let it be server room, computer room, control room (what to control) or something else that you might think off, you are welcome to tell me. :P

With more spaces in the new room, now I can accomodate 2 screens and a laptop too. This is always what I wanted.

Friends keep asking me what’s the use of dual screens? I can tell you this is very useful, one screen for movie or the hottest drama in the town now, 宫心计 and the other screen to chat with friends, it can be facebook, msn, twitter and whatever social networking tools that you gonna name it. Oh ya, I can use them to play my favorite game too, MS Flight Simulator (did you notice the joystick?). :D

Birthday sing K session

前几天是朋友的生日，我们就选了今天在Red Box帮她庆生，也趁此机会与其他朋友来个聚会。

每次跟朋友来到K房，每个人就会点自己的拿手好歌然后开始高歌起来，大唱特唱。这也是一般人会做的正常事吧。唯独今年不同了，这也是我第一次见到的“异像”，他们都点歌了但是就没有唱，只是“斋”看MTV而已，我也搞不清楚何以如此（又怕得罪人，所以不敢切歌）。MTV正播放着，而他们还时不时在谈天说地，就连正眼也不望向荧幕。这是哪门子的唱K？是朋友仔们变了还是我自己没变？

到了最后的一个小时这里气氛终于恢复正常，开始唱歌了！不过我觉得我们好像都浪费了前面那几个小时咯。这不是complain只是觉得有点不值得和奇怪这是否也是新一代人类的现象呢？唉。。。自叹不如，老了！

歌唱到一半时，工作人员把蛋糕拿了进来，唱完生日歌以后，就是许愿和切蛋糕仪式。过后我觉得特别的是，竟然还有“喂蛋糕”。。。嘿！这真够特别，有意思，我喜欢。。。哈哈！我也要在此祝贺这位寿星女，生日快乐！年年有今日，岁岁有今朝。

第一次在星巴里做的事

这是第一次，是我人生中的第一次不在家里写部落格。因为除了家里以外我找不到有一个僻静的地方可以让我坐下来好好的思考，把想象中的，感觉里的转换成文字。通常在星巴(Starbucks)里都是人声喧闹的地方，与朋友谈话多过对着电脑上网（不过这才是比较正常的社交）。

今天约了朋友出来吃晚餐，谈了三个小时（也不知道原来自己如此善谈），嘴巴也累了，口水也干了，所以就转移阵地来到星巴喝杯水，结果发现这里有另一间冷气室，里面不是坐着很多人所以气氛还蛮宁静的，而且还播放着一首又一首很好听的圣诞歌曲。顿时觉得这是一个很好的气氛，尤其是有着圣诞节的感觉。

已经好久好久没有这种感觉了，什么节日对我来说还不是那样过，至少今晚在星巴里让我有机会重温这重久违了的感觉。是时候想想这个圣诞要如何渡过。

老师被体罚

最近的天气变幻无常，以前没发生过的事情现在都频频发生了。就如现今的新闻一样，千奇百怪，无奇不有。

今天回家途中从收音机里听到一则让我啼笑非也的新闻，某华小校长不忿校内有人投诉他，竟然召开会议企图揪出“真凶”。我的天啊，这个举动已经是非常不专业而且显出他个人的品格有问题之外，竟然在没有人承认的情况下，体罚所有的老师。我还以为“体罚”这种不文明的举动只会发生在学生的身上而已。

一直以来都是老师体罚学生，现在终于轮到他们体验一下了。我应该说“风水轮流转”还是这校长未免太幼稚了吧？既然已经被投诉了，为什么不好好地自我反省一下反而做出这么荒唐的事情呢？

校长，又有什么了不起？还不是凡夫俗子一个，当然也会做错，就算没错而是被冤枉的，那么难道他没听过什么是“清者自清”吗？嘿嘿。。。除非他真的有做过咯。还是在此奉劝校长和老师们，人非圣贤，孰能无过，错了就认，别重犯就是了，这种幼稚，没教养而且又凸显不出个人修养品格的举动就免了吧！别让世人拿此事当笑柄哦！

终于见报

有些人不明白什么是Social Networking Tools，也有些人就算明白那是什么也不会拿来好好的利用，可能他们认为没有这个必要，封闭自己并非一件坏事，反正自己身旁的朋友已经够烦够多了。但是对我来讲，朋友我不会嫌多因为不是每个朋友都能深交而且不同的朋友有着不同的兴趣，所以多交几个朋友也无妨。

我是比较喜欢与人分享东西的人（那当然是可以见人的东西我才拿出来），所以拍了新的照片总会post上网与友人一起分享，伍思凯也有唱过啦，与你分享胜过独自拥有嘛。但是有些刚刚开始使用Social Networking Tools的人总认为这是一种炫耀的行为。我不怪他们那么肤浅（又或是出自于嫉妒之心），只当他们的思想还停留在中国以前的封建时代咯。

在几个月前我买了新的相机，但是又没什么机会出去拍照，一时兴起（也是忍不住手痒啦），所以就拿了我所收集的模型飞机出来当我的"model"给我拍个不亦乐乎。然后就放上网(Facebook)，就这样给一位记者朋友见到，他说要跟我做个关于收集飞机模型的专访。

第一次被采访哦，其实也没什么啦，有什么就讲什么咯。哈哈。。。

当我的专访被刊登在《星洲日报》时，我还来不及看报纸，就收到朋友的电话和短讯。当时我真的不敢相信自己竟然有这样的机会，见报了！

布拉格

独自走在布拉格这个陌生的城市里，我有两个非常要好的朋友，一是我的相机，二是我的iPhone。因为它们陪我走过这城市里的每个时刻。

我以为在加拿大才会看到枫叶，原来并非如此，在布拉格里到处都是。可能这是我生平第一次看到真的枫叶吧。秋天里除了满地不同颜色的枫叶之外，我还很喜欢秋天给大自然带来的颜色。当中的红，黄，青，褐色给大地充满了色彩，也构成一幅又一幅美丽的风景画。

记得我在Australia的时候也是秋天但是就没发现这么迷人风景。

这里的建筑物也有不同的特色，每一间设计都不同而且给人一种历史古物的感觉。听说有些建筑物的确是拥有悠久的历史而有些则是为了配合整座历史城市而建成好像古建筑物一样而已。所以真假新旧已难分了。

双子星

这是我第一次看新加坡的连续集，也是第一次用youtube看连续集。

整套戏也没什么闷场，都很紧张，让我有追着看下去感觉。但是我有点不喜欢的地方是到最后差不多每个人都死了。尤其是叶家，死了五个成员。我看了之后觉得有点好笑，为什么剧本里要安排这么多人死掉？

不过整体上还算不错啦，有意思。有时命运就是这样复杂和纵横交错，这一切仿佛早有安排。于晨和宋桥的命运就是一个很好的例子，就在他们出生的那一刻开始，宿命就已经帮他们做了安排。也无须怪任何人包括他们的母亲。

虽然这套戏比不上TVB的宫心计，但是还是值得在此一提和推荐给大家。

一个人的旅行

每当听到人家说单独旅行时我总是在想我自己是否有机会这么做呢？

倘若有机会我又是否会做呢？今天机会来了，而且是没有得选到底要还是不要。不过这样也好，让我体验一下一个人的旅行到底滋味如何。

这次的行程可说是紧张又刺激了，因为一去就飞到Prague, Czech Republic. 够远了吧？以前看到同事去那里受训或工作时都感到非常羨慕。现在终于伦到我了。这是我投入工作这么久第一次飞得这么远。

朋友知道我要到这么远的地方工干都纷纷为我送上祝福，有此还在我上机前给我短讯。他们的举动让我觉得孤单的旅行并不孤单。我要在此向他们说声谢谢。

爱好摄影的我也可以趁此机会拍多些照片。而且值得一提的是平时这个时候那里不下雪也没那么冷，可是今年变了，天气寒冷而且下起雪来。希望有机会看见下雪然后拍些照片。此行我当作是为自己庆祝早到的圣诞节。

回到现实

放纵了这么多天又到了收拾行李的时候。拖着舍不得的身躯，慢慢开始收拾。离开家里时我回头张望，看看还留下了什么忘记拿。结果就上车赶去机场。

到了机场与家人挥手道别，我知道接下来的路可要自己走。上了飞机我突然感到一股失落，这时我才发现原来我在收拾行李时，我忘了收拾的是心情。

中秋节

自从我去到异乡工作之后，中秋节都是自己一个在家里渡过。记得有一年约了几个同事一起庆中秋，我们点着蜡烛放入灯笼里然后才找地方把它们挂起来。看着烛光透过灯笼照着周围的每一个人，他们的脸上都展现着笑容。好像都忘了离乡背井是怎么一回事。

除了点灯笼以外我们还在地上点了很多蜡烛。望着烛光顿时让我回想往事，有如昨天才发生般的清晰，真的感谢主让我有这些一段段的美好回忆。

小时候每当中秋节就很开心了，因为有得提灯笼之外还有月饼、小竽头、菱角和我最喜欢吃的公仔饼。喜欢吃公仔饼并非它有各式的形状而是那种味道。

现在吃的都还有但就是没了灯笼而且儿时玩伴也都在国外，也没有约好中秋得回来团聚。原以为可以回来寻找以往的回忆，结果没了灯笼没了玩伴的中秋也只不过如此。

虽然没有儿时玩伴，但是我不再是独自过节因为我还有家人倍伴。人生哪有十全十美？只得其一，学会珍惜才是最重要的。

马来西亚的黄金海岸

有一天就心血来潮约了位朋友一起去拍照。起初还没想到要去哪里。Putrajaya 吗？又去过几N次了，所以不想去。突然朋友问我是否去过黄金海岸。在我记忆中好像似曾听过但就是没去过，那既然今天有空不如去看看吧！

听说那里的日落很美而且将会降在海平线上，哪里可以放过这美景呢？本来还以为来不及赶到海边去看日落，结果皇天不负有心人，我们不只赶到而且日未落，还有时间给我到处走走拍拍照。

本人很喜欢这张照片，它好像告诉我生命虽然有限但是却可以活得精彩，散发光芒。

夕阳西下前发出金黄色的光芒，让我觉得黄金海岸这名字可不是浪得虚名的。

当夕阳还没动到海平线时，除了给海滩涂上金黄的颜色以外，看着它也可以很迷人（千万别看太久）。

终于等到夕阳西下而且动到海平线的那一刻。我最是喜欢这个时候，从金黄变成橙色光芒也一样迷人而且别有一番滋味在心头。夕阳无限好，只是近黄昏。这句话虽然有点悲，但别忘了太阳下山后明天依旧爬上来。

美好的时光总是短暂，总是不长久。紧接而来夜幕低垂，把大地带入黑暗。跟刚才相比简直有太大的分别了。这时候刻回家了，后会有期。

The height at 50th floor

That day I need to go to menara telekom for a briefing and it was the first time I got the chance to go to level 50. Ya, my first virgin time for menara telekom.

I thought the air condition is not working well because it was very warm. But later I found out from my colleague that this because the air cond is supplied from the ground to each level up. Wow... Amazing (at least I feel it this way), this is the first time I heard of it. Hmmm... Technology, physics and human intelligence can really make impossible become possible.

I have taken some photos from such a "high level" but do you feel anything different? Personally I don't. I don't feel anything special on level 50 with this view. Maybe I should try jumping down from that height and feel it? Haha...

不知道是哪位后座乘客如此忍心把Jack Jack放到后面去晒太阳。哈哈。其实从倒后镜我已经看到多次但就是忘了把它拿下来。

是我不拾得把它晒坏了。它的存在代表着某个意思。

它跟随我多年也陪我走过很多路，别以为我曾经抱着它痛苦流泪还是什么的，就好像某些人某些事，过了多年那份情感仍然存在。

就算未来的路有多崎岖，因为有你我还是能走过。

Dawn of the day

I like dawn or sunset because it always show different colors on the sky. And at the same time it gives me a feeling that hardly described by words. Sometimes it is a sad one and sometimes it is a relaxing mood. The atmosphere could be better if accompanied by jazz music.

This is a photo taken when I was driving. Haha... Taking photos while driving is a dangerous act but I just want to capture the beautiful moment.

While waiting for the movie to start and I got to do something to kill time. I went to the roof top of the garden shopping mall. It took me to a surprise that the view is so beautiful.

刚才不小心看到以前去国家公园时拍下的照片才发现原来那己经是两年前的事了。在我的印象中那好象去年的事情而已呀。时间过得真快，难怪人家常说光阴似箭，眨眼间便成为过去，现在感同身受。

还记得当初来吉隆坡工作时，我还想过是否会在这里住上五年呢？结果我做到了，就在不知不觉中。时间啊时间你是如此无情一直往前冲啊。

今天是个蛮特别的日子，九月九日零九年。真的希望有情人终成眷属，友情久久，爱情久久，亲情久久，一切好事长长久久。很多人就在今天注册结婚，希望他们的感情永久不变。

虽然今天不是我的大日子，但是觉得开心因为有幸的被邀请去见证朋友的结婚注册仪式。说穿了这还是我第一次参加这种场合和仪式。

仪式过后当然抓紧机会拍照啦。其实我并没有想到我们的政府也会在注册所内做了些摆设好让新人们还有亲朋戚友拍照留念。

踏着月亮洒满一地的银辉，放轻脚步走向那里，脚步越是轻盈心情越是沉重，因为怕惊醒了群山的梦。

听着一首smooth opeartor再加一首when will I see you again，是一种难以言喻的感觉。夜深了，一切仿佛已尘埃落定，无须追究，没了执着人也轻松了。

Change of image

Normally I am wearing long pants and gel my hair before going out. But this time I was wearing shorts and with messy hair style, basically just didn't comb it. Haha... Change my hair style once in a while also good what.

I went to the hair saloon where I always go. This time I am asking for highlighting my hair. If I don't have white hair I don't have to pay an extra RM20 to dye with black color first. Therefore, the total I need to pay is RM117, cut+dye black+highlight. I have never tried highlighting my hair before. This would be the first time.

I made a mistake, I should have told the hair stylist what color I wanted to highlight but I have forgotten that and he didn't even ask me also. Sigh, the color turned out to be light brown. The color only become obvious under white or sunlight. What I am expecting is an obvious and noticable yellowish but.... He told me the color will become more obvious after washing it a few times (after desaturating more). Hopefully after a few days, the color will outshine.

Take a snap shot of my hair color again before going to work and found that I can't see the color... Sad.

Matta fair

Yesterday was the last day for matta fair. I wanted to go Cambodia as rumours said that Angkor wat is gonna close for public soon because of lack of maintenance and it can collapse anytime soon. I don't know how true is it.

By the way, I knew this might not be related but I still found it worth to mention it, the weather was so nice. The whole day was so gloomy and windy. First time ever walking from the lrt station to PWTC without sweating and I was in black color tshirt.

Let's come back about the fair. I found that there is a significant change on how they sell the package. Last time most of the packages were come with air fare but this time round they took it out. That's why when I looked at the package price, they were a lot cheaper.

After a few hours walking in the fair I bought nothing with my friends. Initially, was thinking about Cambodia then change to lake toba followed by china trip and ended up will buy the Macau package later. For Macau package, it is not necessary to book during the fair. What we have to do is check out the Macau promotion bus location, go and buy it in the bus. I took the schedule of the bus and will see how later.

I should save more during these few months and wait for the next fair 6 months later. Don't think so will go any places this year as I found that I am so "dry" now. :(

七月十四

今天早上的天气有点阴暗而且气温比平时低，忽然让我想起在Gold Coast, Australia的日子。虽然在那里就只一个星期但是却让我爱上那里凉爽的气候。 原来不下雪的冬天是这么好的。

和朋友用了晚餐之后就到他府上一起吃他托朋友买回来的月饼。今天是七月十四很多人在街边烧冥纸，而我们却在家里吃月饼。我们试了不同的口味月饼都觉得很捧，很好吃。虽然在一起吃月饼的时间不长但是我们有说有笑，在这低温的夜里给我感觉到一丝丝的温暖。

The Singapore trip

The primary purpose of going to Singapore is to take a lot photos about this place. Targetted locations are orchard road, bugis, Chinatown, sentosa island, clark quay, marina barage and esplande.

I don't know should I blame the weather or myself for bad planning? So far I have been to 4 locations out of my list but the most satisfied and the most photos are at Chinatown and clarke quay.

So I am planning to go there again but this time I must make sure it is not raining season and the locations I want to go. I can skip Chinatown and Clarke quay next time since most of the photos are quite satisfied.

I got to thank my friends who purposely take a day off to go out with me and given me very warm hospitality while I am in Singapore. Really appreaciate it.

Not forget to mention that I manage to meet up with my long lost primary school friend who didn't see each other for more than ten years after graduated 10 years. Time really flies so fast that I can't even imagine it. I missed the chance to meet him in Penang but with the fate given by god, we met up in Singapore. I found that it is a bit unbelievable but the truth is there.

Oh ya, one more very coincidence incident. When I came out from a cab on Sunday at tiong baru plaza and about to cross the road, a car stopped in front of me. It was my friend who picked me up from the airport and we suppose to meet up the next day. Wow... How conincident is it? I think all these already been arranged by god.

I was so nervous when I arrive at lcct this afternoon because I couldn't find the check in counter where I used to go 3 months ago. Comparing now with 3 months earlier, lcct did change a lot.

But of course I found the check in counter and gone thru all the routine thingy. Finally I can sit back and relax at the boarding gate. And wait for the journey to begin.

当我坐在电脑面前订机票时还觉得把日期订得这么远不就得等很久吗。真的眨眼间，启程那天终于到来。这是我第一次自己出国旅行。虽然事隔多年，但我还是希望以前走过的地方没多大的改变因为这次的目的是想重拾我儿时的记忆。

往曰的回忆就用现今的科技来记录吧。

我真是一个不到最后一分钟都不收拾行李的人。

当然最后还是收拾好了。

一个简单的行李和DSLR bag就准备接下来几天行程了。
